This issue is drawing from the 2011 theme of the New York State Reading Association’s annual conference, “Multiple Literacies.” How are your students empowered by the multiple literacies available to them in and out of school? How have mandated state assessments impacted literacy policies and practice? For this issue we invite you to submit articles that focus on the many languages and forms of literacy that populate today’s classrooms. We encourage articles from K-12 practitioners on the power literacy brings to their classrooms and students. We also welcome articles written by authors and presenters who will appear at the NYSRA conference in March.
